Biography

Raised on Calypso

SugahRhe was six years old when her father, Joel “Willo” Williams, brought her into the world of Calypso. The tents became a classroom, and the stage became home.

She debuted in 2005 with “Luv 2 C” and broke through in 2008 with “Handle It”. Since then she has been a Machel Montano Music Academy semi-finalist with “De Motion”, an International Bashment Soca finalist with “Bare Trouble”, “Bounce” and “Press My Buttons”, and a Soca Monarch semi-finalist with “Sugah”.

Her current work is built with producers Monstapiece, DJ Kurt Riley (Jambian Music) and Grammy-winning Jason “JG” Gilbert (Skorch Bun It) — a sound that keeps one foot in the tents and one in the fete.
